A First Dive Experience Tailored to You
At Oceans 5 Gili Air, we understand that taking your first breaths underwater is a big moment. That’s why our Try Diveprogram is designed to be as relaxed and enjoyable as possible, with no rush and no pressure. The experience takes place in small groups, with a maximum of four participants per instructor, allowing for plenty of personal attention and support. With seven experienced and certified instructors on our team, you’re in good hands from start to finish.
The Journey Begins: Theory at Your Own Pace
The day starts with a brief theory refresher, based on the PADI e-learning materials you received in advance. This means no lengthy classroom sessions—just a simple, clear explanation of the basics of scuba diving, how your gear works, how to stay safe underwater, and what to expect throughout the day. You’ll be able to ask questions, clarify any doubts, and build your confidence before you even put a fin in the water.
Practice in the Pool: Learning the Essentials
Next, it’s time to head to our spacious training pool, specially designed for dive training. Under the guidance of your instructor, you’ll learn and practice some essential scuba diving skills—such as how to breathe from your regulator, how to clear water from your mask, and how to signal to your instructor underwater.
These skills are taught slowly, step-by-step, and always at your pace. If you need more time, we give you more time. Our priority is your comfort and confidence before heading into the ocean.
The Highlight: Your First Ocean Dive
Once you’re ready, you’ll board the dive boat and head to one of the beautiful, shallow dive sites around the Gili Islands. These reefs are teeming with marine life, from colorful tropical fish to sea turtles, and are ideal for beginner divers due to their calm conditions and gentle currents.
Your instructor will be by your side for the entire dive, maintaining close supervision and ensuring your safety. You’ll descend slowly, take your first breaths underwater, and begin your exploration of a new world—weightless, serene, and unforgettable.
A Memory to Keep
After the dive, you’ll return to the dive center with a big smile and even bigger memories. To mark the occasion, Oceans 5 presents each participant with a certificate of participation and a photo from your dive—a keepsake of your first underwater adventure.
